RE: hot water heater won't start with gas

update:
my COLD WATER HEATER is still not lighting...
unplugged the module and reconnected it no difference. did the same to the orange ignition (or non-ignition to be accurate) wire and no better.
tested the plug with a volt meter and there is power to the board.
called the dealer again and waiting for a callback.
I am thinking its the module but will wait for confirmation form the dealer.

RE: hot water heater won't start with gas

Hi,
thanks for everyone's response.
There isn't a gas valve for the heater and the furnace, fridge and stove all work.
I will check the fuses when I get home.
I did check the circuit board (under the seat) for a fuse and there isn't one.
No, I don't hear any clicking when I flip the switch. Yes, I did hit the reset several times.
I called the dealer and the service guy said to unplug the control module (white connector with 4 wires) and then plug it back in. He said that if it the gas doesn't get used for a while (in this case never) it may need to be reset. I will try when I get home and let you know.
Thanks

hot water heater won't start with gas

I have a '08 Roo 233 and it came with a suburban DSI 6 gal water heater. have used it a few times with 120Volt connection and it works just fine.
tried it this weekend for the first time with propane. Since we were dry camping, no electricity..
turned on the propane, lite the stove and it worked fine.
filled the water heater and hit the switch inside. nothing. no clicking, no red light.
hit the reset switch on the heater and nothing. read the manual and it said to turn off the switch on the wall, and wait 5 seconds. then turn on again. did that a few times but nothing. what's wierd is that there isn't a red light.
checked the fuses and all look ok. so I ran the weekend with no hot water. came home today, plugged it back into shore power and turned on the electric 120 volt switch. started to heat.
it looks like we don't have power to the switch. how do I check this?
thoughts?
thanks

RE: Concertone model ZX75 Alarm won't turn off

after calling concertone tech support, they confirmed that the first batch of radios they rec'd had this problem. I put in a warranty claim with RVW and just rec'd my replacement ZX75 from the dealer. it looks the same as the original one. Just swapped it out on the weekend and now with the radio turned off, hit the timer button, then the x-bass button, it comes up with "ring off". Hit it again, shows "ring on". problem solved.
now all I have to do is send back the old one.

RE: How not to pull a camper!!!!

makes me wonder.. what's the height of my rockwood roo 233 (with air conditioning)?
I was heading north on highway 400 towards Barrie Ontario and there were signs on the highway warning of low bridges... makes me wonder how tall I am.

RE: Concertone model ZX75 Alarm won't turn off

been trying to get RVW to replace mine for over 2 months... now they tell me that concertone says the new ones are the same as the one I have. RVW says I have to call concertone support. tried calling them but they never answer their phone. Has anyone licked this particular problem?

was crawling under my Roo 233 the other day and saw 2 hoses (1 red 1 blue) that came out thru the floor near the rear of the trailer directly under the outside shower. What are they for?

RE: Concertone model ZX75 Alarm won't turn off

what did you do with the old radio? did FR want it back?
has anyone that is having the problem with the alarm try the x-bass button? I will try it tonight but am curious if anyone else has tried it.
Have been trying to get ahold of RVW to get my radio replaced and my emails have gone un-answered. Guess I will have to mail again!
thanks

strap down television?

Hi,
I have a Roo 233 hybrid and there is a shelf above the dinette that will nicely hold my 13" television.
Just a question to all the experienced rv'ers out there: do you strap it down, or take it off the shelf put it on the floor when travelling?
if you strap it down, how? pictures?
thanks in advance

RE: Importing to Canada

its dog simple.
I just purchased a trailer from RVW in May. I live in SW ontario as well as the original person posting the question. Here's how it went for me:
- purchased thru RVW gave deposit via cc
- prior to pickup in Lakeview OHIO, I got the VIN# and put insurance on the trailer.
- drove to dealer, gave certified cheque for balance. they provided all paperwork required. They had a 30 day licence plate already on the unit
- drove back to ontario (crossed in Port Huron) and stopped at border. Said I had just purchased a trailer in US and went into office. Showed bill of sale (original) and recall letter that was provided by RVW. They filled out Form 1 and I paid the GST on purchase price.
- left border and went home. Went online and paid the $204.75 RIV fee (riv.ca) and waited for them to fax the inspection letter. Called CDN tire to schedule an inspection. They checked out the tires and reflectors and weight of trailer. Stamped the FORM1 as OK and then went to MTO to get ownership and plates. Paid PST there plus the plate fee.
-about 2 weeks later, received a letter from RIV with a sticker that I needed to put on the trailer.
all done!
saved me about 35% on the purchase price.
any questions from anyone please PM me.
cheers

RE: Concertone model ZX75 Alarm won't turn off

hi,
thanks for the info. tried that on my radio, and I searched high and low (even with a flashlight to better illuminate the display) and I didn't see the word timer anywhere.
did go thru the key sequence as suggested and it made no difference.
still waiting to hear from RVW. been a week or so.

RE: First trip with roo23ss with some problems

As to your water under the sink cabinet problem, I had the same issue with my 08 Roo 233. Water was running down the wall, over the shallow pan, then between the pan and the vanity, pooling under the vanity and eventually find a way out to the ground behind the back tire.
I spent a couple hours debugging the problem and found that to be the source of the problem. No connection leaking etc. Not saying that yours is the same, but thats what I found.
I will be adding some tub surround to the side of the vanity and caulking up everything.
Poor design if you ask me.
good luck

RE: Concertone model ZX75 Alarm won't turn off

If anyone has the answer it will save me form getting alarmed before I just pull this unit out and dispose of it.
You may just want to get it out of the way now! sooner or later it will qiut working and you will do what almost every other Concertone owner has done and replace it with something better, just like I did.
really? I just bought this trailer... called RVW today and talked to a guy in service. They have never heard of this problem before. Hard to believe. Guess they don't read the forums :D He was going to call forest river for me tomorrow. they were closed today.
I will let you know what I find out. Maybe they will ship me a new one....

RE: single propane tank tiedown

Would be a good suggestion if I had a truck ;D
but.. legally I have to carry it outside the vehicle or trailer. here's a couple pictures of where I would like to put the tank and the tank just sitting in place not tied to anything.
Picture worth a couple dozen words... what does everyone think?

single propane tank tiedown

Hi,
I am wondering if anyone has an idea (pictures would be great) of how they are securing a single propane tank to their trailer. I have dual 20 lb tanks that came with the trailer, but I want to have a smaller 10lb tank that I will take off the trailer to use for the portable bbq.
There is room beside the battery box on to put the tank, and it sits just nicely betweent the 2 angle iron brackets.
The question I have is how do I secure it to the brackets so its not going to fall off during travel but so its easy to remove when I get to the park? I don't want to have to get tools out.
is there such a thing as a single tank tie town?
thanks in advance

stove cover for roo 233

Hi,
I have a '08 Roo 233 and it didn't come with a stove cover. I have seen other trailers with a built in cover that hinges and folds away. Couple questions for the group:
- should my trailer have one of these? didn't see it on the option list.
- where can I get one of them to install... or does anyone have a pictures of how they made one?
thanks
